The Applied Research Project is one of the most cherished and valued project undertakings at OHIO University Christ College Academy for Management Education. And that is because we believe it teaches a lot more than any other program devoid of such a valuable project undertaking. |

Unlike a summer internship, it requires the students to do real time consulting for companies in groups of three or four. They actually walk, talk and act like consultants. They strive to solve actual business problems; they strive to understand and convince the client how best practices worldwide can be applied to ameliorate the company’s business practices. They work along with the managers in the host companies, trying to search for the best solution to a live problem that the client is facing. They work as a group and hence have more inputs to provide. They also have a host of faculty experts at OHIO University Christ College Academy for Management Education in the fields of Marketing Research, Finance, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources etc. assist them in the process. |

The Applied Research Project provides an opportunity for the students to learn management by making a contribution to solving a real-time problem. When the students get on to the corporate battlefield, they miss their cozy MBA classes and have to put up with the mismatch between the theory they understood and the non-theoretical practicality they witness. They begin to understand how things work in the corporate world and the process of owning responsibility starts right here. The faculty help ensures that the students are on the right track and can make worthy contributions. There is little place for mediocrity and incompetence in the ARP. We feel that it brings out the best in our students. That’s why we are proud of it! |
