  • Marketing Principles (MKT 501): Emphasis on practices and problems of marketing manager and environment in which he or she operates, supplemented with business cases.
  • Foundations of Finance (FIN 525): Role of financial management in business enterprise, financial analysis, planning needs for short-term and long-term funds, planning for profits, capital budgeting, internal management or working capital and income, raising funds to finance growth of business enterprises.

  • Accounting Principles (ACCT 501): Intensive overview of accounting theory, practice and statement preparation.

  • Financial Market Analysis (FIN 591): Factors determining the level of the nation’s activity and growth and stability in nation’s economy.

  • Economic Analysis (MBAM 601): Measuring economic relationships, analyzing economic forces and constraints which determine the profitability and viability of the firm demand, costs, production possibilities, pricing of outputs and inputs in varying market structure and application of economic analysis to allocation problems of scarce resources of modern corporations.
  • Management and Organizational Behavior (MBAM 601): Analytical approach to complex behavioral problems involving interactions among individuals, groups and organizations, using conceptual and research material drawn from a number of fields. Extensive in-class use of case studies, theoretical models, and current writings in organizational behavior.
  • Managerial Marketing (MBAM 604): Development and execution of marketing strategy plans and management of marketing operations, analyzing both the controllable and uncontrollable aspects of the strategy, with special emphasis on the relationship of marketing mix to the ever-changing consumer needs and dynamic business environment.
  • Accounting Analysis (MBAM 605): Financial accounting data analysis to reflect financial position, operating results, and resource flows. Emphasis upon acceptable alternatives yielding substantive differences. Internal accounting data analysis for short- and long-term performance evaluation and profit planning, with an emphasis upon cost behavior and profit centers.
  • Managerial Finance (MBAM 606): The role and responsibilities of today’s financial manager with special emphasis on advanced tools and techniques for solving complex financial problems. Topics of special interest in budgeting, funds analysis and allocation will be discussed. Models for financial decision making under conditions of uncertainty will be formulated.
  • Applied Research Project (MBAM 607): Students will be required to participate in research/consulting project on some real corporate-based or business-unit based problem given prior approval of the topic and methodology. Emphasis will be placed on providing real solutions to real business problems in a consulting context.
  • Seminar: Domestic Business Environment (MBAM 609): Governmental regulatory environment of business and commerce including analysis of statutes, court decisions, and rulings affecting policy decisions. Topics include administrative process, laws affecting securities markets, Antitrust Act, laws affecting trade, foreign direct investment and foreign exchange, independent regulatory agencies, consumer protection, intellectual property rights, union management relations, occupational injuries, employment discrimination, social and ethical problems, and responsibility in business. This gives the students the Indian perspective to business and makes the education well-rounded and complete.
  • Management Information Systems (MBAM 610): Concentrated introduction to tools, techniques, and concepts underlying management of information that is critical in understanding and dealing with problems arising in development and use of management information systems.
  • Management of Operations (MBAM 611): Selected survey and case applications of techniques in plant layout, production planning and control, materials management, quality control, and operations research to operations management problem solving, decision making, and policy determination.
  • Seminar: International Business (MBAM 612): This course looks at the special aspects of doing business in an increasingly globalized economic context. Concerns with both political and currency risk will be addressed. Also, the effects of managing and transacting in a cross-cultural, cross-border business environment will be considered including the effects of differing regulatory regimes and schemes on the way business is conducted. The seminar will deal with the operational problems of business undertakings (production and marketing) in nation-states abroad in addition to the institutional issues related to organizational conduct and behavior.
  • Seminar: Administrative Issues and Policies (MBAM 613): Exploration of current problems and management relating to organizational structure, organizational behavior, and course interaction. Investigation of organizational environments and adaptation; management systems and decision making; leadership and motivation; structural change and technology; behavioral change and organizational development.
  • Specialization: Seminars on Special Topics: Students choose either the Finance or the Marketing track (FIN 691/MKT 691, 4 credits)
